Computersmith, L.L.C. is committed to serving its customers the old-fashioned way, through expert, personal service.  We pride ourselves in being different than other business computer consultants.  We offer more flexible scheduling as well as personnel who take your computer problems personally!  This philosophy equates to a staff that can get results for you quickly, affordably and with your company’s best interests in mind.

Also, we understand that new technology without proper training can result in higher business costs due to lost production, system down-time and data loss.  That is why we offer comprehensive training for new operating systems and software applications.  With dozens of established business clients, we have a broad base of experience with many different business sectors and their specific computer system and technology needs.  Please see our Business Services page to see how Computersmith, L.L.C. can help with the technology needs of your company.

With over 30 years of experience with computer and information technology systems, we are well-suited to bring you and your company into the technological present and lead it into the future.  We always assign the same technician to your business so that they already know the setup of your system.  This strategy saves time and money compared to computer service firms that send whoever is available.  We truly have a passion for making technology work for the companies we serve.

For on-site service calls, we typically serve an area bounded by Milwaukee, WI, Madison, WI, Green Bay, WI and Northern Illinois.  On-site services may also be available from Computersmith in other areas, so please call to discuss your IT support needs. A.  How many years of experience have you had in this area of work? Can you give me a  complete written estimate for the work that is be proposed? Do you have any references that I can talk to about your past work?  What is it you like best about the service you provide?

Q.  What do you like most about your job?

A.  Helping people.
Technology is responsible for much productivity in our society, but also much anger and frustration. There is nothing we enjoy more than relieving the pain a customer is experiencing due to their misbehaving technology. Seeing them to get back to work and in a good mood is one of the perks of our job!

Q.  What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What’s your answer?

A.  Should I get a new computer?

There is no one-size fits all answer for this one. The answer can be very different for business computers versus personal computers. We take the time to understand how the computer is being used and the real costs of upgrading to a new computer in each case. Only after discussing the issues with a customer will the correct answer be reached.

Q.  How did you decide to get in your line of work?

A.  Computersmith, L.L.C. was started in 2000. I started it after working 10 years as a network administrator for a company with 50+ computers, several file servers and two offices. Since so many coworkers, colleagues, friends would ask me for my advice on computer matters, I decided to start my consulting business.  It has been a pleasure growing the business and establishing many long-term partnerships and friendships since the year 2000!

Q.  How do you charge for your services?

A.  There is no charge for estimates or an initial consultation. We bill in 15 minute increments and we don’t charge for single incident phone calls or help sessions over the Internet less than 15 minutes long. For on-site work we charge for one hour of labor minimum and possibly a trip charge depending on location.
